Job summary

Purolator Inc. is seeking a Licensed Tradesperson to maintain, diagnose, test, and repair material handling equipment (MHE) at our Richmond facility. The role requires 5 years of electrician or millwright experience, with a valid BC Class 5 license and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as an electrician or millwright installing, maintaining, diagnosing, or repairing Material Handling Equipment.
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
• No more than four points on a Class 5 BC driver’s license (abstract required).
• Must successfully pass the Defensive Driving course.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular preventative/predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) to maintain equipment in good repair and in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical failures to minimize downtime and protect service delivery.
• Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities.
• Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., safety, operational).
• Coordinate and document work orders in the CMMS system.

Description

The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.

Shift

Tuesday to Saturday: 7:30am - 4:00pm, 30 mins unpaid break. 40 hrs per week.

Location

3700 Jericho Road, Richmond BC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular preventative / predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to maintain equipment in a good state of repair in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair Material Handling Equipment mechanical or electrical failures to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime to reduce downstream impact to service delivery.
• Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities.
• Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., safety, operational).
• Coordinate and document work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Education

Completion of Specialized Courses Normally Taught in Community or Recognized Specialty Colleges Consisting of About Three Academic Years.

For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) is required.

For millwright roles, a Licensed Industrial Millwright Certificate (433A) is required.

Experience

• 5 years of experience either as an electrician or millwright that installs, maintains, diagnoses, or repairs Material Handling Equipment.
• Must have a valid Class 5 B.C. license.
• Must have no more than four (4) points on a valid Class 5 B.C. drivers license (abstract required).
• Must successfully pass the Defensive Driving course.
