Job summary

Sofina Foods Inc. is recruiting a Trade Spend Rebate Analyst to ensure accurate processing of customer rebate claims and verify deductions against contracts and sales data.

This role also ensures rebate plans are properly configured in the ERP system and that GL reflects amounts due to customers. The candidate will compare deductions to contracts, manage plan set-up, and provide regular reporting to Finance and Sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including trade spend and rebates.
• University degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong Excel skills and accounting with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up new rebate plans in ERP system accurately.
• Review amounts owing and prepare documentation for sign-off.
• Contact customers to resolve inappropriate deductions and pursue over-deduction repayment.
• Analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts; monitor liabilities on balance sheet.
• Provide ad hoc internal reporting on rebate plan activity.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, AR & Trade Spend, the Trade Spend Rebate Analyst is accountable for ensuring the accurate processing of customer rebate claims. They must ensure that rebate claims are accurately deducted by verifying sales volume information to internal sales data and rates of deductions to contracts/agreements in place. They must also ensure that rebate plans are set-up correctly in the ERP system and that the general ledger information accurately reflects amounts owing to customers and amounts

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, AR & Trade Spend, the Trade Spend Rebate Analyst is accountable for ensuring the accurate processing of customer rebate claims. They must ensure that rebate claims are accurately deducted by verifying sales volume information to internal sales data and rates of deductions to contracts/agreements in place. They must also ensure that rebate plans are set-up correctly in the ERP system and that the general ledger information accurately reflects amounts owing to customers and amounts

Key Accountabilities

• Work with Sales department and Business Performance area to ensure new rebate plans are accurately set-up in the ERP system;
• Review and assess accuracy of amounts owing and prepare supporting documentation to support sign-off of customer payments/deductions;
• Contact customers to resolve issues related to inappropriate deductions and obtain repayment of over-deductions;
• Analyze & reconcile General Ledger accounts and ensure that liabilities are appropriately represented on the balance sheet and voice concerns or issues to appropriate department as required;
• Ad hoc internal reporting to Finance and Sales on specific rebate plan activity.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting including working experience of accounting for trade spend and rebate programs;
• University degree in accounting/finance;
• Strong organization, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discretionary manner;
• Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.

Hiring Range: CAD $56,523 - $75,458

Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 7% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions.

Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
