Job summary

Responsibilities

• Planifier ou ajuster les itinéraires en fonction des conditions, en utilisant GPS et d'autres outils pour minimiser le coût et les émissions.
• Conduire en équipe de deux personnes ou en convoi.
• Préparer les trajets, les réservations et les itinéraires liés.
• Charger/décharger les marchandises et assurer la sécurité de la cargaison.
• Effectuer l'entretien préventif et les vérifications avant et après trajet.

WORK SETTING

TASKS

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Professionalism in customer service
• Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
