Job summary

Alstom is seeking a permanent full-time Track & OCS Technician for the Finch, ON site. You will maintain and troubleshoot assets on the LRT guideway, including fences, track, drainage, and tunnel systems, in a 24/7 operation.

The role requires compliance with Health & Safety policies, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and coordination with external suppliers and the Rail System Team during emergencies. Experience in rail environments is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in track or rail environments is preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights.
  • Flexibility to work 24/7 rotational shifts.
  • Experience with maintenance/work orders and inspections is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot assets on the guideway (fences, track, drainage, etc.).
  • Comply with EHSS policies and report works orders/inspections.
  • Support external suppliers/contractors and interact with Rail System Team during emergencies.
  • Operate and supervise use of heavy equipment as needed.

Your future role

As a Track & OCS Technician, you are responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the assets on the guideway of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) line (fences, track, greens management, drainage control of the platform and tunnel, overhead catenary system, access control etc.), in line with specified Quality procedures.As this is an industrial/field work environment, physical demands are in consequence (work outside in all weather conditions, work at heights, etc…). This is also a 24/7 operation, flexibility and ability to work on different shifts will be needed to meet with operational requirements.

This is a permanent full-time (40/h) position based at our Finch site located at 50 York Gate Bld in North York.While interacting daily with co-workers, external suppliers/contractors and management, all activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health & Safety policies.

You’ll specifically take care of
  • Complying with and enforcing EHSS policies and rules
  • Carrying out all levels of examination and work arising on the line guideway
  • Maintenance of some other assets (Tunnel ventilation, security system, Pumps etc.)
  • Reporting activities (work orders/inspections) through a Computerized Maintenance Management system
