Job summary

Alstom in Toronto, Canada is seeking a Project Coordinator – Track Access to support CROR-compliant track access planning and coordination across multiple teams and partners. You will help manage authorizations, handovers, and safety compliance while tracking progress against the schedule.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, attend regular meetings, and contribute to a safe, efficient rail project delivering value to the GO Expansion program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree mandatory.
  • 2-3 years of railway experience mandatory.
  • Awareness of risk assessment processes.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate track access in compliance with CROR.
  • Support sub-system teams with authorization forms.
  • Monitor authorizations and stakeholder requirements.
  • Attend weekly customer meetings and address issues.
  • Identify and manage cross-subsystem coordination.
  • Document work area handovers and snags.
  • Assess progress against the schedule.
  • Coordinate the 4M process implementation.
  • Identify and report EHS hazards.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to deconflict track access.
  • Support Track Access Manager on compliance with GEI.
  • Verify certifications and PPE usage on site.

The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Could you be the full-time Project Coordinator – Track Access in Toronto, Canada, we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your coordination and organizational expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that all track access requirements are planned and delivered in compliance with Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as sub-system teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners), monitor administrative authorizations, and manage stakeholder requirements through regular meetings and communication. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating worksite activities and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of booking worksites through the Metrolinx Network Access Planning Tool (NAPT) system and managing work area handovers, but also assist with administrative applications and maintain compliance with safety and operational standards.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Identifying and processing administrative authorizations required for work execution
  • Supporting sub-system teams in preparing application forms for authorizations
  • Monitoring the delivery and validity of administrative authorizations
  • Attending weekly customer meetings to address issues and stakeholder requirements
  • Identifying and managing coordination issues between subsystems or stakeholders
  • Documenting work area handovers and addressing any identified snags
  • Assessing progress of works against the schedule
  • Coordinating the implementation of the 4M process
  • Identifying and reporting Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) hazards
  • Coordinating concurrent activities and issuing daily reports
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to deconflict and optimize track access
  • Supporting the Track Access Manager in ensuring compliance with CROR and General Engineering Instructions (GEI)
  • Signing track staff in and out of sites, verifying certifications, and ensuring proper PPE usage
  • Communicating progress updates to management and worksite staff
  • Logging and reporting safety-critical information, including accidents and incidents
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Alstom, Metrolinx, and third-party planning teams

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $79,500 – $104,500 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
