Job summary

Dynacare is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our Toxicology team in London, Ontario. You will prepare samples and reagents for routine processing and perform simple non-interpretive tests under supervision. You will help ensure quality control and adhere to MOH guidelines to support patient care.

The role is permanent full-time with shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.

Qualifications

• Certification or diploma in health/science required.
• Excellent data entry skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing.
• Follow established protocol for handling of unsuitable samples.
• Operate complex instruments following department procedures.
• Perform simple non-interpretive testing procedures.
• Ensure abnormal, critical and STATS are processed as outlined in guidelines.
• Follow up on missing samples, documentation and results as required.
• Handle inquiries and problems in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain supplies and ensure reagents/testing kits are in date order.
• Enter results into the company database.
• Perform quality control checks as required in procedures.
• Refer results to Medical Laboratory Technologist for review.
• Monitor quality control guidelines and implement corrections as needed.
• Follow pre/post-analytical quality protocols.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and document issues.
