Job summary

Clark Builders in Alberta is hiring a Tower Crane Operator to work on the Red Deer Regional Hospital project. You will be responsible for the safe operation of the tower crane and for moving machinery, materials, and formwork around the site.

Reporting to the Foreman or Superintendent, you will conduct pre-operational inspections, load calculations, and routine maintenance while adhering to OH&S regulations and ensuring proper rigging and lifts.

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered apprentice, certified journeyperson, or hold a valid credential.
  • Luffer experience required.
  • Capable decision maker and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tower cranes to lift, move, and place equipment and materials.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, and load calculations.
  • Inspect and maintain crane components as required.
  • Coordinate with site leadership for optimal crane placement.
  • Ensure rigging and hoisting are conducted safely.
  • Assist with crane assembly on site.
  • Comply with OH&S regulations and safety policies.
  • Keep tickets up to date and represent Clark Builders professionally.

Position Description: Clark Builders is hiring Tower Crane Operators to work on the Red Deer Regional Hospital! This role will be responsible for the safe operation of the tower crane and will move machinery, materials, formwork and other large objects.

Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Operate tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
  • Performs pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts and load chart calculations
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance as required
  • Communicates with site leadership to determine the best placement of crane for planned lifts
  • Ensure that all rigging operations are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Service the hoist and swing equipment used to move machinery, materials and other large objects.
  • Assist with the crane assembly onsite.
  • Abide by OH&S regulations.
  • Review safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safety tickets are up to date.
  • Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures.
