Job summary

Golderado Contracting Corporation is seeking skilled Topman/Topwoman to lead piping placements on sewer and water projects across Canada. You will read grades, take elevation shots, inspect pipes for defects, and interpret blueprints while coordinating with forepersons and crew members on varied shift rotations.

Requirements include at least 2 years in a similar role, strong grade-reading and surveying skills, plus a valid driver's license and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of working experience as a Topman/Topwoman for various sewer and water projects or equivalent experience required.
• Must have a strong understanding of reading grade.
• Must understanding surveying.
• Must be able to do elevation shots.
• Must be able to read and understand drawings.
• CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground disturbance 201, fall protection required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
• A reliable means of transportation is required.
• Proficient English language skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct elevations shots, read grade, and ensure pipe is properly placed in the ground.
• Communicate with the Foreperson, Operators, and Crew members.
• Provide continuous inspections of pipes for cracks or deficiencies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and reporting.
• Use and knowledge of various levels.
• Oversee the water and pumps within the trenches.
• Knowledge of fusion joining is considered an asset.

• Hours: Various shifts, project dependent, 12-hour days
• Must be willing to working evenings and weekends (Various shift rotations)
