Job Description

Tech Art / Tools Programmer’s Mandate and Requirements:

  • Unity knowledge
  • Experience in releasing finished projects from start to finish

Tools for Game and Level Design:

  • Assist in the design and development of level editing tools (walls, props, level placement)
  • Bridge level editing tools with main programmers to enhance and support them
  • Maintain and support team members using level editing tools, troubleshooting, tweaking, and balancing outcomes as needed

Tools for Asset Pipeline:

  • Manage automated props and models processing pipeline from source to game
  • Perform source mesh tag cleanup and attempt automatic cleanup, leaving manual cleanup for artists
  • Generate destruction data and support destruction generation tools development and maintenance
  • Ensure proper asset setup and detect erroneous content that may not work in-game

Support on VFX Tools and Integration:

  • Support VFX Shader Graph and tools for VFX artists, including batch coloring and template setup
  • Assist with integration of dynamic and gameplay-sensitive effects, including entry points, triggers, and feedbacks

Support on Gameplay:

  • Support operator abilities and create editor tools for managing gameplay testing workflows and states

Tools for Artists:

  • Support Ground Level / ‘Mega-Texture’ tech and act as a bridge between programmers and artists
  • Troubleshoot content creation pain points related to these tools

Rendering Tech Knowledge:

  • Assist with rendering assets integration, tweaking, and balancing parameters exposed by rendering features
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Python for build tools and Unity Editor scripting
  • Knowledge of Graphics and Rendering, including HLSL
  • Experience with Houdini, if deemed useful for the project
