We are currently looking for a Tandem (HPNS) Systems Programmer Bilingual for our client, a global leader in the IT infrastructure consulting and management industry.

Role(s) Required: Tandem (HPNS) Systems Programmer Bilingual

Location: Remote , Montreal, QC

Employment Type: 12months to start but this is a Indefinite, longterm contract

Required Start Date: ASAP

Total Hours Approved Per Role: 40h/week

Rate/Salary: $70 - 90 /hr C2C - based on overall experience

Job Role & Responsibility The Tandem (HPNS) Systems Programmer role requires the resource to provide services in a customer, multi-vendor, multi-protocol complex network/systems environment. Interacts with the customer, vendors, and management to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Primary point of contact strictly for Tandem HPNS Systems Q&A.
  • Engages in identifying and resolving complex problems relating to product/service installation, update, configuration, operations, performance, or other aspects of information technology products and services.
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of technical solutions and management tools.
  • The employee guides functional objectives or technologies.

Description In a steady-state team, install and maintain Tandem (HPNS) and Perform problem determination and resolution. Participate in Disaster Recovery tests. Participate in On call rotation. Participate in projects. As well, the candidate should have demonstrated ability to install, customize, test, and implement software; should have good skills and knowledge of user exits and system modifications; and should understand Assembler language. finally, the candidate must have excellent verbal and communication skills and be willing to work weekends and outside of normal business hours in a fast-paced, dynamic, and stressful environment.

  • Understand of concepts of sysplex
  • Familiarity with CPU keys (ordering, applying)
  • Experience working with vendors (IBM and others) for PD and for product questions
  • Support multiple account

System Utilities: (DFDSS, IDCAMS, IEBGENER) extensive understanding of DFSMS is required from an MVS system programmer point of view

Language skills: Written and spoken French and English.

Other skills: Independent ; Adaptation to standard, client change management process; Create & update documentation; working in a virtual team environment, communicate with peers across the country

Services: pager support; off-hours work (weekend); under z/OS (reworking and applying user mods, testing software)
