Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Tools Product Development Manager to act as the SME for Tools & Industrial solutions, supporting our internal sales team with consultative selling and training.

You will educate other business units on product applications, develop market strategies across districts, and partner with account managers to tailor solutions that maximize value and drive growth for existing and new product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 7+ years of solutions selling experience in the industrial sector.
• Firm working knowledge of Tools & Industrial Solutions products/applications and rental market.
• Current valid driver's license with the ability to travel 80% of the time within assigned territory.
• Strategic selling and advanced negotiation and customer service skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and research skills.
• Proficient with SFDC, Dodge, PEC or other CRM software; Proficiency with MS Office (Word & Excel).

Responsibilities

• Develop tools market share for Tools & Industrial division across districts or assigned geography.
• Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers, Government Account Managers, National Account Managers and local Sales Representatives to provide tailored solutions.
• Accompany Sales Representatives as SME on complex calls and help select cost-effective solutions.
• Develop and conduct Tools & Industrial Solutions training to drive growth.
• Work with corporate sales/business intelligence to provide leads via SFDC, Dodge, PEC and other tools.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
