Job summary

Multimatic Inc. in Markham, Ontario is seeking an engineering-focused professional with a strong manufacturing background to develop tools and dies, review tooling for customers, and support die build during validation.

You will collaborate with managers and project leaders to design tools that meet GD&T and customer specifications. Join a team focused on excellence, with responsibilities including maintaining design prints, updating material lists, and ensuring data integrity while following

Qualifications

• Engineering / Design background with strong manufacturing experience.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD tools.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Familiar with industry standard Windows applications.
• GD&T knowledge and quality system familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Managers, Supervisors and project leaders to design capable tools that meet GD&T and customer specifications.
• Review related supplier/customer tooling rid ers.
• Design strip layouts.
• Present strip layouts for review meetings to obtain customer approval.
• Present die designs for review meetings to obtain customer tooling build approval.
• Maintain / update customer die build sheet and review log (design portion).
• Create design print and binder for detail components drawings.
• Produce and keep updated, standard materials list for product orders and block sizes.
• Maintain order tracking logs for purchased items.
• Interact with Analysis personnel to ascertain formability issues.
• Support die modifications throughout tool build and tryout stages.
• Ensure all data is maintained and updated in electronic job folders.
• Create final update tool design for customer.
• Consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems.
• Aid and assist co-workers as required.
• Keep supervisor informed of all program issues.
• Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure they are completed on time.
• Follow all documented quality procedures.
• Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Attend all required training courses.
• Document/present information obtained from conferences and training courses as required.
• Participate in MAMT’s continuous improvement activities and GEAR program.
• Foster good employee relations.
• Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate.
