Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. in Canada is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to develop, repair and modify dies, tools, jigs and gauges with precise dimensions on the manufacturing floor. You will troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal production efficiency.

Minimum 3 years in Tool & Die in manufacturing, Grade 12 with a Tool & Die license; MIG/TIG welding is an asset. Strong blueprint reading and English communication are essential; candidates must be a team

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with a Tool & Die Maker license.
• Minimum 3 years of Tool & Die experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with progressive and transfer dies is an asset.
• Experience in MIG and TIG welding is an asset.
• Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Able to operate standard tool room equipment (Milling Machine, Grinder, Drill Press and Lathe).
• Good English communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dies, tools and processes as required.
• Build replacement tools and dies for production use.
• Provide guidance to Junior Tool & Die Makers and Apprentices.
• Liaise with internal departments for design input and modifications.
• Ensure timely completion of repairs and new dies to avoid production interruption.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedule for tools and dies.
