Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping division is seeking a Tool & Die Maker for our Windsor, Ontario Tool Build Facility. You will ensure tooling meets process expectations, with duties including setting up machines, fitting components, and working closely with manufacturing groups.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of related experience, a trade certification, and strong communication skills to read/write reports and instructions. Rotation days/afternoons and OT are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related work experience.
• Trade certification.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate oral and written instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Able to work Days/Afternoons rotation and required OT.

Responsibilities

• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
• Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools and test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation
• Work directly with all manufacturing groups ensuring tooling meets process expectations
• Work directly with tooling suppliers in build to print, or design and build situations to ensure tools meet expectations
• Analyze manufacturing and tooling problems and formulate solutions
• Make repairs and adjustments as needed
• Suggest new methods and processes for quality improvements or cost savings

The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for ensuring tooling meets process expectations. The ideal candidate will have good manual dexterity, be detail-oriented and self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The pay range for this role is $30.00/hour to $45.00/hour.
