Job summary

Southcoast Farming Inc in Simcoe, Ontario is seeking workers for seasonal full-time farm duties. Position requires performing multiple field tasks, including hoeing, pruning, planting, weeding, harvesting and crop sorting. Work is on-site with no remote option and involves physical labor in various weather conditions.

Applicants should be able to work as part of a team, handle heavy loads, and stand for long periods. Overtime may be required, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Hoing between rows to apply the technique of hoeing.
• Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and work areas.
• Cut agricultural crops.
• Grade vegetables and fruits by size, shape, colour and volume for market pricing.
• Greenhouse cleaning and crop maintenance.
• Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops.
• Sort fruits and vegetables for market readiness.
• Weeding throughout fields and plots.
• Clean and prepare work areas.
• Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (tractor).
• Examine product quality and readiness for market.
