Job summary

Cookstown Greens, a working vegetable farm in Thornton, Ontario, is seeking a dependable General Labourer to join the production team for the season. You will hand-harvest vegetables, grade produce, and help pack for market in a hands-on, outdoor role.

Experience is not required for a formal degree; 1–2 years of relevant farm work is preferred. Valid driver’s license and own transportation are needed since public transit isn’t available at this location.

Cookstown Greens is a working vegetable farm in Thornton, Ontario, growing a wide range of crops including asparagus, carrots, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and microgreens. We're looking for a dependable General Labourer to join our production team for the season.

What You'll Do

Hand-harvest vegetables and pick seedlings
Grade fruits and vegetables by size, shape, colour, and volume to meet market standards
Sort and pack fruits and vegetables for market
Weed and maintain crop areas
Clean greenhouses and general work areas
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Inspect product for quality and market readiness

Crops You’ll Work With

Asparagus, carrots, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, other vegetables, and microgreens

Equipment

Experience with vegetable harvesters and hand tools is an asset.

What We’re Looking For

1 to 2 years of relevant experience
English language ability

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold/refrigerated environments
Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
