Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Dusty. Noisy. Non-smoking. Odours. At heights. Hot. Work setting: Automobile repair services. Garage. Tasks: Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed. Repair and balance tires. Replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas. Perform scheduled maintenance and service. Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports. Clean work area. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Road test motor vehicles . Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Equipment and machinery experience: Lifting device. Hoists or winches. Installation specialization: Tires. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Manual dexterity.
