Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Tire Technician for Detour Lake Mine to inspect, measure and replace tires on mobile equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will operate in a 14/14 schedule with accommodations and meals provided on site; company transport is arranged, and travel expenses are covered per residence in Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Tire Technician.
• Experience with open pit mining equipment and Ultra Class tires 59/80R63 and CAT haul trucks.
• Proficient with tire manipulators and hand tools.
• Five years in a fast-paced production environment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of work order systems and tire monitoring systems.
• Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Inspects, measures, and replaces tires and wheels on all mobile equipment on the mine site.
• Performs inspections of tires and wheel components.
• Operates light vehicles in mine to assess reported tire problems on production and auxiliary equipment when necessary.
• Operates tire manipulator to change out wheel/tire assemblies.
• Maintains records of all equipment, wheels or tires worked on and highlights the nature of the repairs to wheels, tubes, tires, etc.
• Checks tire pressures as required to ensure that they are within the specified limits and adjust to improve the equipment’s operational efficiency and tire life.
• Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Responsible for tools and keeping work area clean and orderly (housekeeping).
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area.

• Checks tire pressures as required to ensure that they are within the specified limits and adjust to improve the equipment’s operational efficiency and tire life;
• Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices;
• Responsible for tools and keeping work area clean and orderly (housekeeping);
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Minimum 5 years - experience as a Tire Technician;
• Experience with open pit mining equipment, notably Ultra Class size tires 59/80R63 & CAT 795 &798 haulage trucks;
• Experienced with large, counterbalanced tire manipulators equipped with a tire hand;
• Minimum five years’ related experience in a fast-paced production environment;
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
• Computer literate and proven knowledge of work order systems, and tire monitoring systems;
• Experience working at a remote work site is an asset;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
