Job summary

Kal Tire is seeking Tire Retread Technicians to join our team at our re-manufacturing facility in Sparwood, BC. You’ll play a key role in extending the life of commercial tires through the retreading process, contributing to sustainability and a safety-focused, team-oriented workplace.

Qualifications

Job description

Kal Tire is seeking Tire Retread Technicians to join our team at our re-manufacturing facility in Sparwood, BC. As a Tire Retread Technician, you’ll play a key role in extending the life of commercial tires through the retreading process, helping reduce waste and support our commitment to sustainability. You’ll be part of a close-knit production team that values precision, safety, and teamwork.

What to Expect in This Role:

To help you decide if this hands-on, full time, permanent role, in a unionized environment is the right fit, here’s what a typical day looks like:

• You’ll work in a manufacturing environment that can be warm, noisy, and fast-paced.
• You’ll be on your feet most of the day, using hand tools and machines to inspect, buff, and prepare tires for retreading.
• The work is repetitive but methodical, requiring patience and a strong attention to detail.
• You’ll wear protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) and follow strict safety procedures.
• You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to meet daily production goals.

Training & Onboarding:

We know the first few months are crucial, that’s why we provide:

• Paid training, covering retread operations.
• Skill progression, you’ll start with tire inspection and preparation before advancing to full retreading.
• Clear expectations and feedback at each stage of your training.

Total Earnings:

• $27.00+/hr days (including guaranteed bonus)
• $29.00+/hr overnights (includes shift premium)

What’s Included:

• Base wage: $24.31/hr as per the collective agreement
• Guaranteed bonus: $500+ per month
• Night shift premium: $2.00+/hr

Schedule:

• 12 hours shifts7 days on 7 days off
• Days7am-7pm OR
• Overnights 7pm to 7am premium $2.00+hr for overnight shift
• Overtime available during peak seasons.
