Job summary

Kal Tire Mining Group in Sparwood, BC, is seeking Tire Retread Technicians for our re-manufacturing facility. This hands-on, full-time role works in a unionized environment to extend tire life through retreading and reduce waste.

You will inspect, buff, and prepare tires using hand tools and machines, while following strict safety procedures and working as part of a supportive team to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude or experience with tools/equipment.
• Ability to use PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability; attendance and teamwork essential.
• Basic computer skills for recording production data.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Kal Tire is seeking Tire Retread Technicians to join our team at our re-manufacturing facility in Sparwood, BC. As a Tire Retread Technician, you’ll play a key role in extending the life of commercial tires through the retreading process, helping reduce waste and support our commitment to sustainability. You’ll be part of a close-knit production team that values precision, safety, and teamwork.

What to Expect in This Role

To help you decide if this hands‑on, full time, permanent role, in a unionized environment is the right fit, here’s what a typical day looks like:

• You’ll work in a manufacturing environment that can be warm, noisy, and fast‑paced.
• You’ll be on your feet most of the day, using hand tools and machines to inspect, buff, and prepare tires for retreading.
• The work is repetitive but methodical, requiring patience and a strong attention to detail.
• You’ll wear protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toe boots) and follow strict safety procedures.
• You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to meet daily production goals.

Training & Onboarding

We know the first few months are crucial, that’s why we provide:

• Paid training, covering retread operations.
• Skill progression, you’ll start with tire inspection and preparation before advancing to full retreading.
• Clear expectations and feedback at each stage of your training.

Total Earnings

• $27.00+/hr days (including guaranteed bonus)
• $29.00+/hr overnights (includes shift premium)

What’s Included

• Base wage: $24.31/hr as per the collective agreement
• Guaranteed bonus: $500+ per month
• Night shift premium: $2.00+/hr
• Extended group health, dental, and vision benefits are available to all eligible full‑time and part‑time permanent employees.

Schedule

• 12 hours shifts7 days on 7 days off
• Days7am-7pm OR
• Overnights 7pm to 7am premium $2.00+hr for overnight shift
• Overtime available during peak seasons.
