Job summary

Doctor Countertop Ltd. is seeking a tile setter for on-site work in Vernon, BC. The role involves preparing surfaces, laying and finishing ceramic and stone tiles, and ensuring precise alignment and clean grout lines.

You will work with mortar, adhesives, and power tools to complete installations that meet exacting standards. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of tiling experience, physical stamina, and the ability to read layouts and measure spaces accurately.

Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in tiling or related trade.
• Ability to work on-site at the physical location with no remote option.
• Physically demanding role requiring bending, crouching, kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel.
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base.
• Align and straighten tiles.
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite.
• Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces.
• Install tile strips.
