Job summary

IMP Solutions, a division of IMP Group Limited, seeks an experienced I.T. Administrator to join the Managed Services team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will support and maintain client IT environments across server, network, and cloud platforms, acting as an escalation point for front-line support.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent customer service, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Three (3)+ years of experience in back-office or Service Desk support.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network environments.
  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Customer-focused, patient, approachable, and adaptable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by taking ownership of monitoring alerts and reported end-user issues.
  • Contact customers upon ticket reception to validate issue priority, schedule service, and provide ongoing updates.
  • Accurately document, categorize, and update all incidents and service requests within the ticketing system.
  • Serve as an escalation point for front-line technical support, providing guidance and assistance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Perform server administration including Active Directory, Group Policy, RDS, patching, ESX, Hyper-V, DHCP, DNS, and backups.
  • Administer and support network infrastructure including firewalls, routing, switching, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Respond to and remediate server and network monitoring alerts.
  • Provide administration and troubleshooting support for Office 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.

Position Overview
