Job summary

Apex Aluminum Extrusions in Langley, BC is seeking a 3rd or 4th year ticketed Millwright to join our maintenance team. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production facility equipment, with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires ability to work shift rotations including weekends and to engage in preventative maintenance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, RRSP matching, and room for growth in a stable manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th Year Ticketed Millwright certification.
• Basic knowledge of construction processes, materials, tools, quality, and safety.
• Experience with lifting equipment such as scissor lift, boom lift, and forklifts.
• Manufacturing environment experience is an asset.
• Strong safety background and willingness to follow safety protocols.
• Basic welding skills (MIG, TIG, ARC) are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, examine, and troubleshoot equipment to meet safety and quality standards.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production facility equipment.
• Maintain electrical devices and components in the facility.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on hydraulics, pumps, valves, and seals.
• Engage in setup, installation, and maintenance of production equipment.
• Install, dismantle, replace, calibrate, and maintain systems as assigned.
• Follow a preventative maintenance schedule.
• Inspect electrical components for defects and repairs.
• Work through shift rotations including weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, examine, and troubleshoot equipment to find and investigate problems or breakdowns and to ensure that safety and quality standards are met
• The incumbent will perform a variety of duties which include installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production facility equipment
• Responsible for maintenance of electrical devices and components found in an aluminum extrusions manufacturing facility
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, or rebuilding hydraulics, pumps, pneumatic valves, and seals.
• Responsible for engaging in manufacturing support activities connected with the setup, installation and maintenance of production and related equipment.
• Ability to install, dismantle, reassemble, replace, calibrate, repair, adjust, fabricate, lubricate, and maintain, systems and equipment as assigned
• Follow a Preventative Maintenance schedule
• Inspect electrical components for identifying defects, hazards, and/or need of repairs
• Perform equipment adjustments and changeovers as requiredAbility to work through a shift rotation including weekends
• Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge/Experience and Skills:

• 3rd or 4th Year Ticketed Millwright
• Basic knowledge of construction process from material selection, techniques, tools and equipment to quality assurance, and safety.
• Knowledge of scissor lift, boom lift, various sizes of forklift and other lifting equipment.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
• Strong Safety background
• Basic welding skills: MIG, TIG, ARC, and Gas Welding will be considered an asset
• Be a proficient trouble shooter of mechanical system
