Job summary

AgeCare Bow Crest in Calgary seeks a Therapy Aide to support assessment, planning, implementation, and daily operations of therapeutic recreation programs. You will work within the Resident Care Team to promote residents' independence and wellbeing.

Collaborate with the Recreation Therapist and care team, assist in admissions, and help deliver individualized and group programs while ensuring resident safety during outings and transportation.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, volunteers and team members.
• Compassionate and professional approach; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check including a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Support resident needs, preferences, and interests through observation and data collection.
• Assist with admission assessments including leisure history and activity preferences.
• Collaborate with the Recreation Therapist and care team sharing relevant resident information.
• Help develop and deliver individualized and group recreation programs.
• Ensure safe, timely transportation of residents, staff and volunteers and plan routes.
• Support safety during outings and verify attendance and belongings.
