You will help residents develop skills, build relationships, and foster social connections in a supportive care setting.

The role involves maintaining records, contributing to program evaluation, and ensuring equipment adherence to infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with expected completion within 3 years.
• Knowledge/experience delivering recreation services in healthcare or long-term care is an asset.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic care environment.
• Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check within the last 6 months or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely departmental records and complete required documentation.
• Participate in evaluating the recreation program and contribute to quality improvement.
• Ensure supplies and equipment meet infection prevention and control standards.
• Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Inter-provincial travel may be required for education, training and meetings.
