Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide at our Calgary location to plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging resident-centered recreation programs in line with care plans. You will work under the Recreation Manager to foster social connection and well-being among residents, families, and staff.

Requirements include a Diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies or related field, background with seniors preferred, and strong English communication.

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build meaningful connections with residents and teams.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering engaging recreation programs with Recreation Manager and Executive Director.
• Create welcoming, inclusive environment to encourage resident participation and social connection.
• Support resident assessments, engagement tracking, and program evaluations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of participation, notes, and charting.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and inter-disciplinary team members.
• Facilitate participation in programs and outings, including transportation support as needed.
• Contribute to daily program prep and delivery, supporting meal service and routines.
