Uplift Next Level Counselling and Consulting is a counselling, psychotherapy, and consulting practice based in Calgary, Alberta. The practice offers in-person sessions in Calgary and secure virtual sessions to clients across Canada. Uplift focuses on accessible, timely mental health support with no wait lists, allowing clients to receive care when they need it most. The team is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-informed services that help individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges and improve overall well-being.

Role Description

This is a flexible independent contractor role for a Therapist/Counsellor at Uplift Next Level Counselling and Consulting. The Therapist, Counsellor will provide individual, couple, and/or family counselling via secure virtual platforms. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, collaborating with colleagues and supervisors, and participating in case consultations and professional development activities. The role also involves communicating with clients regarding appointments, providing appropriate referrals when needed, and upholding ethical standards, privacy regulations, and best practices in mental health care. The successful candidate will contribute to a supportive, client-centered environment that prioritizes timely access to quality mental health services.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills in evidence-informed counselling or psychotherapy interventions.
  • Strong competencies in active listening, empathetic communication, and building therapeutic rapport with diverse client populations.
  • Ability to manage an independent caseload, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up within a secure digital environment.
  • Knowledge of professional ethics, confidentiality standards, and relevant provincial or national regulations for mental health practice.
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in counselling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional regulatory body or association.
  • Experience providing virtual therapy or telehealth services.
  • Comfort working with clients from diverse backgrounds and commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience using the Jane App is a bonus.
