We’re looking for an Assistant Manager for our Shoe Co. banner ~ Manning Centre ~ who will put their best foot forward.

As an Assistant Manager, you will report to the Store Manager and assist in leading the store environment, which fosters inclusivity and diverse customer connections. In this role, you will be responsible for coaching and leading the team to achieve store objectives, including in-store sales, web orders, recruiting, performance management, training, and development. Your ability to problem-solve, thrive in a fast-paced environment, lead a dynamic team, collaborate, and execute operational excellence will be key to your success.

Key job accountabilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Assumes leadership role with accountability for maximizing store business results by consistently creating exceptional customer experiences.
  2. Facilitates achievement of business results by role modeling a shopping experience that encourages responsive customer service, compelling merchandise presentation, and operational integrity that foster positive customer connections and loyalty.
  3. Leads an operationally sound business by balancing company policies, procedures, shrink/loss prevention, payroll, reporting, and scheduling.
  4. Recruits, manages, develops, and trains top talent who have a love of shoes.
  5. Achieves company objectives and enhances The Shoe Co. brand image by modeling our values of Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, and Authenticity/Humility.
  6. Develops and implements agile business plans to achieve results.
  7. Fosters teamwork, collaboration, and change advocacy within the store and district.
  8. Maintains effective and open communication lines with the Store Manager.
Qualifications:
  1. Proven success in achieving sales and profitability targets.
  2. Proficiency in computer use, including email, MS Word, and Excel.
  3. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while creating a compelling customer experience.
  4. Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a progressive retail supervisory role.
  5. Ability to work days, closing shifts, and weekends.
