The PATS - Accountant will play an important and dynamic role in the day-to-day operation and success of the Clubs business operations. As a member of the Business Operations department, the Accountant will play a dynamic and integral role in the Regina Pats finance department. This position will report to, and work directly with, the Manager, Finance & Administration and be responsible for monthly tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing invoices, as well as assisting with month-end and year-end reporting. The role will require an individual who is available to work a variety of irregular work hours including all game days/nights (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Duties & Responsibilities
Finance & Administration
*Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
*Prepare invoices, receive payments, and complete bank deposits
*Prepare and post journal entries
*Complete bank reconciliations
*Assist with cash outs, merchandise, and inventory counts
*Reconciliation of monthly credit cards
*Data entry of various transactions
*Other tasks as assigned
Regina Pats Community Foundation
*Assist with the operation of the Regina Pats Community Foundation. *Tasks include, but are not limited to:
*Setting up 50/50 raffles for each Regina Pats home game
*Scheduling volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets
*Reconciliation of sales at the end of each 50/50
*Tracking and documenting all 50/50 sales
*Payment of volunteer honorariums
*Other tasks as assigned
Required Skills
*Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
*Strong organizational, time management and prioritizations skills
*Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
*Attention to detail in all areas of work
*Effective communication and people skills
*Working knowledge of Sage and QuickBooks is an asset
*2-4 years of direct work experience in a financial position
*Post secondary diploma in Accounting
