Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in industrial mechanical training or related mechanical engineering fields
• 3–5 years of experience with industrial machinery in textile manufacturing
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
• Strong manual dexterity and quick analytical thinking

Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical repair principles to ensure textile machinery runs properly
• Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery and identify variations in components
• Repair and overhaul electrical and mechanical systems on textile machinery and replace/align parts
• Set up and adjust complex machinery for new patterns and products
• Analyze information to perform maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, troubleshooting, and testing
• Test-run machinery and analyze performance data to find faults before downtime
• Adjust and calibrate equipment when switching to new patterns, fabrics, or product lines
• Fabricate replacement parts using standard machine tools like lathes and grinders
• Confer with management to evaluate equipment changes, modifications and upgrades

Wage: $37.50 per hour (full-time, permanent, 35 hours per week)

Job Description

• Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to make sure that textile machinery runs properly
• Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery and identify slight differences in dimensions and shapes of component parts
• Repair and overhaul electrical and mechanical systems on textile machinery and replace and align moving parts as required
• Set-up and adjust complex machinery for new patterns and products
• Analyze information to perform maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication of textile machinery, troubleshooting, and to test running and proper operation of machines
• Test-run machinery and analyze performance data to find mechanical or electrical faults before they cause major downtime.
• Adjust and calibrate complex equipment when switching to new patterns, fabrics, or product lines.
• Parts Fabrication: Use standard machine tools like lathes and grinders to custom-make replacement parts during overhauls
• Confer with management to recommend equipment changes, modifications and upgrades, and to evaluate new equipment and technology and improve production safety

Job Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in industrial mechanical training or related mechanical engineering fields
• 3 to 5 five years of experience working with industrial machinery in textile manufacturing
• Strong manual dexterity to align moving parts and repair intricate electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
• Quick analytical thinking to diagnose equipment jams or electrical failures
