Job summary

MANNARINO Systems & Software Inc. in the Montreal area seeks a Test Means and Tools Development engineer to support IVVQ for aerospace systems.

You will design and maintain physical and virtual test benches for embedded avionics, and develop software on test platforms. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Software/Computer Engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with LabVIEW or Simulink.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software or related field.
• Experience integrating hardware and software in complex systems.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with LabVIEW, Simulink, and programming languages is a plus.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and CAD tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Join the Test Means and Tools Development team supporting the IVVQ organization.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain test benches for embedded avionics.
• Develop and integrate software applications on test platforms.
• Assemble, configure, and integrate hardware components for test benches.
• Develop models and virtual representations of aircraft equipment and systems.
• Create test tools, support applications, automated scripts, and acceptance test suites.
• Integrate test tools and automation scripts into existing engineering processes and workflows.
• Participate in supplier evaluation and post-purchase follow-up.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation related to test means and tools.
• Support IVVQ test campaigns, troubleshooting, and system integration efforts.
• Analyze electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system interfaces.

Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

• Join the Test Means and Tools Development team supporting the Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ) organization in the aerospace sector.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain physical and virtual test bench solutions for embedded avionics systems.
• Develop and integrate software applications on physical and virtual test platforms.
• Assemble, configure, and integrate hardware components for aerospace test benches.
• Develop models and virtual representations of aircraft equipment and systems.
• Create test tools, support applications, automated scripts, and acceptance test suites.
• Integrate test tools and automation scripts into existing engineering processes and workflows.
• Participate in supplier evaluation, technical selection activities, and follow-up after purchase order issuance.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation related to test means, tools, and test bench solutions.
• Support change control activities and continuous improvement initiatives for test means and tools.
• Support and participate in IVVQ test campaigns, troubleshooting activities, and system integration efforts.
• Analyze electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system interfaces to support integration and troubleshooting.

Required Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience integrating hardware and software components in complex systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve integration issues and system failures.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience programming in one or more languages such as LabVIEW, Simulink, C/C++, Python, Rust, or database technologies is considered an asset.
• Experience developing real-time applications is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems is considered an asset.
• Experience with CAD tools and technical drawings is considered an asset.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.

Miscellaneous Requirements

• Work can be done remotely.
• For employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office).
• The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America)

Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
