Job summary

MANNARINO Systems & Software Inc. is a leader in safety-critical systems and aerospace software. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining flight control and embedded simulations with high-performance C/C++ software for SIL testing environments.

You will build and optimize simulation environments for automated testing and rapid prototyping, and deploy virtualization for SIL/HIL/MIL testing. Hybrid work in Montreal is required with French language proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related engineering or CS field.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Experience with multithreaded and real-time systems.
  • Experience with Python or scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and RTOS.
  • Experience with virtualization for embedded or mixed-criticality systems.
  • SIL/HIL/MIL testing environments experience.
  • CI/CD and automated testing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain simulation software for flight control and embedded aerospace systems.
  • Develop high-performance C/C++ software to support SIL testing environments.
  • Build and enhance simulation environments for automated testing and rapid prototyping.
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize virtualization environments supporting SIL, HIL, and MIL testing activities.
  • Develop test benches and support IVV activities.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, controls, and verification teams to align requirements and simulation results.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to software modules, model integration, and simulation execution.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to improve test efficiency and coverage.
  • Produce technical documentation including requirements traceability, test reports, analyses, and user guides.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain simulation software for flight control and embedded aerospace systems.
  • Develop high-performance C/C++ software to support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing environments.
  • Build and enhance simulation environments for automated testing, demonstrations, and rapid prototyping.
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize virtualization environments supporting SIL, HIL, and MIL testing activities.
  • Develop test benches and support integration, verification, and validation (IVV) activities.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, controls, and verification teams to ensure alignment between requirements and simulation results.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to software modules, model integration, and simulation execution.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to improve test efficiency and coverage.
  • Produce technical documentation including requirements traceability, test reports, analyses, and user guides.
  • Ensure effective integration between system engineering, software development, and testing activities.
  • Contribute to software architecture, test infrastructure improvements, and industry best practices.
  • Act as a technical reference and mentor for junior engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex engineering activities and projects.
Required Competencies
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ programming.
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex software systems with long product lifecycles.
  • Strong understanding of multithreaded and concurrent programming.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies for embedded or mixed-criticality systems.
  • Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and/or Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) testing environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing environments.
  • Knowledge of model-based development and simulation environments is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of avionics communication protocols is considered an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship.
Miscellaneous Requirements
  • The work model is hybrid (minimum 3 days per week at the office in Montreal).
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written French is mandatory.
  • Occasional travel may be required based on project and business needs.
Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
