Job Summary:
This Test Lead role requires a highly experienced QA professional with a strong background in software testing across various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, plans, and scripts, focusing on cloud-based Java technologies. A significant portion of the role will involve hands-on testing, defect tracking, and collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams. The position also necessitates experience with AODA testing, SQL, and test automation tools. The role may involve some assignment to projects related to **** 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025. Location: Ontario, Canada
Responsibilities: - Lead the design of test strategy, plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
- Coordinate test strategy and plans with project managers and other stakeholders.
- Write and review test strategies and organizational test policies.
- Contribute the testing perspective to development and integration testing activities.
- Plan tests, considering context, objectives, and risks; select test approaches; estimate time, effort, and cost; acquire resources; define test levels and cycles; and plan incident management.
- Specify, prepare, implement, and execute tests; monitor test results; and check exit criteria.
- Adapt planning based on test results and progress, taking necessary actions to compensate for problems.
- Introduce metrics for measuring test progress and evaluating the quality of testing and the product.
- Provide input to test automation strategy and test automation framework roadmap.
- Select tools to support testing and organize training in tool use for testers.
- Coordinate usage and assignment of the test environment with all stakeholders.
- Write test summary reports based on information gathered during testing.
- Execute full lifecycle software development.
- Program well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
- Create and produce specifications and determine operational feasibility.
- Lead and provide guidance to team members.
- Provide comprehensive and detailed hands-on testing covering cloud-based Java technologies including JSON, RESTful Web Services, and HTML5.
- Develop plans, execute testing, and produce testing artifacts providing assurance of software quality.
- Document errors and manage defect tracking.
- Create and implement test strategies and plans for testing software, debugging code, and enhancing program usability.
- Proficiently use SQL in supporting testing activities.
Required Skills & Certifications: - 8+ years of QA testing using agile, hybrid, and waterfall SDLC methodologies.
- Experience developing plans, executing testing, and producing testing artifacts that ensure software quality.
- Proficiency in documenting errors and managing defect tracking.
- Ability to create and implement test strategies and plans for testing software, debugging code, and enhancing program usability.
- Proficiency in using SQL to support testing activities.
- Experience with AODA testing and the use of related tools.
- Experience in project management and QA approaches.
- Working knowledge of testing tools such as Azure DevOps and Postman.
- Ability to design and write automation test scripts.
- Working knowledge of test management software tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to liaison with non-technical and technical team members regarding QA testing.
- Ability to understand technical and business/customer requirements to ensure full scope of testing is captured and executed.

Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Testing experience with information systems related to soil management.
- Working knowledge of GIS spatial datasets.
- Working knowledge of programming scripting languages such as Python.
- Engineering or Computer Science background degree. Special Considerations:
- Hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days per week onsite at the Guelph office or a GTA office location. Scheduling: - Hybrid schedule; 3 days per week onsite. Specific scheduling details will be determined with the client.
