Job summary

New Flyer, part of NFI Group, seeks a driver to support testing and demonstration in Winnipeg. You will drive NFIL or other buses, and provide feedback to engineering on operation theories and drawings. The role includes documentation, log maintenance, and performing tests per a plan.

Candidates should hold a Manitoba Class 2 license with airbrake, prefer experience with large vehicles, and be flexible for nights and weekends. Safety and accurate reporting are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Manitoba class 2 driver's license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Previous experience driving large vehicles or buses preferred.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and maintenance practices.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends, variable hours.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
  • Effective communication for reporting findings to engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Drive NFIL or other bus for testing or demonstration in Winnipeg.
  • Provide feedback to engineering on drawings and operation theories.
  • Assist fabrication equipment on test devices; some lifting/climbing as required.
  • Write reports and maintain drivers log using PC tools.
  • Perform tests according to a requested plan and inspect (PDI) vehicles.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide driving services for testing and demonstration in Winnipeg.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Drive any NFIL or other bus as required for testing or demonstration
  • Provide feedback to engineering on drawings, designs and theories of operation
  • Assisting fabrication equipment on test equipment, some lifting and climbing as required
  • Availability on nights and weekends, no regular hours
  • Write reports and keep drivers log, use of PC, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
  • Perform tests from a requested plan
  • Clean and inspect (PDI) vehicles
  • Must have a valid Manitoba class 2 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Previous experience driving large vehicles or buses is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and maintenance practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, nights and weekend.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with the engineering team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety procedures.
