Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation invites applications for a Test Automation Developer internship. You will join a growing Digital, Data and Tech team in Canada, designing and implementing automation frameworks, using Java, REST API testing and Selenium to accelerate delivery.

The role is a full-time Winter 2027 internship (January–April). Candidates should be pursuing a relevant degree, be eligible to work in Canada, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in software development/computer science or related field.
• Available to work full-time, 35 hours per week, for Winter 2027 term (January–April).
• Must be an active student during the internship or returning to school in Summer/Fall 2027.
• No Canadian work experience required but must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and continuous delivery/testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning.
• Excellent communication and a passion for technology.
• Self-reliance and strong sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to build a new testing framework using Selenium, API testing, design and code new features, and resolve issues.
• Expand and develop testing frameworks to support multiple teams, leveraging Java and design patterns.
• Maximize automation to assist claims adjusters, focusing on total loss scenarios and applying Scrum methods.
• Deepen understanding of SDLC to integrate automation with development objectives.

• Collaborate with the development team to build a new framework using Selenium, integrating API testing, designing, coding, and testing new features while resolving issues efficiently.


• Expand and developadditionaltesting frameworks and modules to support multiple teams and squads,leveragingobject-oriented programming skills inJava,and knowledge of design patterns.


• Maximize automation toassistclaims adjusters, focusing on total loss scenarios, and employing agilemethodology(Scrum) to enhance effectiveness.

What you bring to the table:
