Job description

Overview

Reporting to the Director, Retail Store Operations, the Territory Manager is responsible for leading and managing a territory of company-controlled convenience stores, gasoline facilities, and select dealer outlets in a defined market.

This is a full-time, permanent role. The ideal candidate could be based in the Ottawa/Gatineau region and will be bilingual (English/French).

Responsibilities
  1. Preparing, negotiating, and communicating annually approved projections with retailers while establishing financial targets and providing strategic direction for each of the retail locations.
  2. Performing regular store visits to monitor the implementation and execution of strategic plans, including marketing and merchandising, and adherence to operational standards to improve performance.
  3. Coaching and motivating the retail agents to increase site sales profitability while adhering to principles of execution, ethical business conduct, and safe operations.
  4. Communicating company strategy, policies, and objectives at the site level so each market can leverage company programs to maximize performance.
  5. Analyzing sales and financial data to monitor the success of each retail location, identify growth opportunities, and ensure targets are met.
  6. Coordinating repairs and maintenance to maintain high standards of customer readiness.
Operations Management
  • Providing feedback to improve store operations policies and processes across all stores.
  • Overseeing the operations of a designated test/training store within the territory.
Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Post-secondary education in business or relevant experience.
  • Management experience in retail and merchandising.
  • Negotiation experience is an asset.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills in both official languages.
  • Self-reliant and motivated.
  • Willing to spend significant time driving within the territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
