The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is seeking a term Educational Assistant to support students with diverse needs across its schools in Ottawa, Ontario. The role involves assisting with academic development, behavior support, and daily living activities under the guidance of the principal and classroom teacher.

Qualified candidates hold a secondary diploma and a related college diploma (or higher). Experience with children with disabilities is preferred.

Formación

• A secondary school diploma.
• A 2 year community college diploma in a related field (e.g. DSW, CYW, SSW or a university degree in a child-related field).
• 2 years of relevant experience working with children with physical, intellectual disabilities or learning difficulties.

Responsabilidades

• Under the direction of the principal and classroom supervisor, support in a classroom with a student with special needs.
• Work in a special education setting to support academic development and student well-being.
• Assist with activities of daily living and contribute to the educational program as needed.
• Be a team member supporting the assigned student(s) and other duties as assigned.
