Eastern Kentucky University’s Construction Management Program at the School of Safety, Security, & Emergency Management seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor for the 2026-2027 academic year at the Richmond Campus. Candidates should hold a Ph.D.

in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related field; ABD considered with defense by May prior to Fall. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses such as Estimating, Scheduling, Horizontal Construction, and MEP Systems;

Qualifications

  • PhD in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related field from a regionally accredited institution; ABD considered with defense by May prior to Fall appointment.
  • 3+ years of progressive professional construction experience in the United States and prior higher education teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in construction management (e.g., Estimating, Scheduling, Horizontal Construction, MEP Systems).
  • Develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda; advise students; engage in service to the department, university, and community.
  • Participate in ACCE accreditation processes and professional engagement; contribute to BIM/AI integration in teaching and research.
