Job summary

The City of Kitchener is seeking a Downtown Core temporary labourer to join the Operations team at the Kitchener Operations Facility for the winter term. You will interact with the public and downtown community, supporting seasonal events and winter maintenance in target core areas and amenities.

Qualifications

• Must have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform manual labour and work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for seasonal events and winter maintenance.
• Collect waste and empty waste receptacles.
• Pick litter and remove sharps.
• Assist with graffiti removal.
• Set up/takedown outdoor furniture.
• Inspect and maintain Downtown Core infrastructure.
• Record data during inspections using GIS mapping tools.
• Perform winter maintenance in Downtown Core areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
