Job description

Cloud Chamber is seeking a talented Temporary Senior Lighting Artist to contribute to the next BioShock project. You will utilize Unreal Engine to craft immersive lighting for gameplay and cinematic sequences, blending art and technology to evoke the desired mood. Collaboration is key: working with other artists, supporting their work, enhancing environments, and elevating cinematic storytelling through character lighting.

Please note that this is a temporary role with a maximum employment term of 12 months.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain the lighting pipeline within Unreal Engine.
  2. Collaborate with lighting and technical artists across locations to improve environmental composition.
  3. Partner with animation and cinematic teams for in-game and pre-rendered cinematics lighting.
  4. Create shot compositions and render key art and marketing visuals as needed.
  5. Work with Cinematic and VFX teams to resolve technical lighting challenges.
  6. Troubleshoot Blueprint issues and implement effective solutions.
  7. Support art standards and best practices within the team.
  8. Foster a positive, innovative, and collaborative work environment.
  9. Align with the Lighting Lead to uphold visual style and direction.
  10. Contribute to efficient lighting workflows and pipelines.
  11. Research and share new lighting techniques and technologies for continuous improvement.
  12. Coordinate with other art groups to ensure cohesive visual results.
  13. Receive and incorporate feedback effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
  14. Uphold Cloud Chamber’s core values.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
  1. Over 5 years of real-time lighting experience in AAA games, with final lighting and rendering skills.
  2. Proficiency with Lumen, Sequencer, and Blueprint.
  3. Experience as a Senior Lighting Artist on at least one AAA title.
  4. Strong cinematic and character lighting background.
  5. Bachelor’s degree in Art, Digital Media, or equivalent experience.
  6. Familiarity with modern FPS engines and art pipelines.
  7. Ability to develop complex lighting solutions and workflows.
  8. Experience creating high-quality lighting within runtime constraints.
  9. Team-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  10. Ability to articulate and advocate your ideas while being receptive to others.
  11. Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, adaptable to change.
  12. Creative problem-solving skills.
  13. Strong ethics and integrity.
  14. Passionate about high standards, progress, and innovation.
  15. Positive team player attitude.
