Qualifications

Job description

Crafty Apes is a high-end global visual effects company specializing in photoreal VFX. Established in 2011, Crafty Apes operates offices in Canada, the UK, and the US, with employees working remotely across the globe. Crafty Apes and our talented team members have received recognition for outstanding contributions to feature films, and we are looking for a Temporary Mid/Senior Compositor to join our team in Montreal. The perfect candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embraces individuality and creativity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for the most difficult shots.
2. Seamlessly integrate the various layers or elements of a live-action shot.
3. Tackle shots from start to finish, including roto, tracking, paint, animation and creation of elements, etc.
4. Extract mattes from blue/green screen photography.
5. Pay strong attention to detail, sense of color, color-space and lighting.
6. Composite multi-pass CG elements to create photo real shots.
7. Maintain clean and efficient script organization.
8. Communicate progress of work to Coordinators, Producers, Leads and Supervisors in a timely fashion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a compositor in episodic, commercial or feature VFX.
2. Must excel in tracking and blue/green screens comps.
3. Proficient in Nuke, Photoshop, Boujou/Syntheyes/Mocha, Primatte/Keylight/Ultimatte.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines.
6. Experience working with Shotgrid software preferred.
