Reporting to the Manager, Payroll and Benefits, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator works independently and is responsible for carrying through to completion a variety of tasks and duties that have an intermediate to advanced degree of complexity. Employees in this position exercise independence of judgement, based on a good understanding of district and departmental policies and procedures, applicable collective agreements, and government legislation. The successful candidate must be well organized with a high level of attention to detail, able to meet recurring and conflicting deadlines, and able to always ensure a high level of confidentiality. The ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships, particularly with HR management, is also critical to ensuring accuracy and timeliness with the payroll.
