Job summary

Carewest is seeking a Health Care Aide to join our team in Calgary on a temporary part-time basis. You will provide direct client care, administer prescribed medications, and communicate changes in patient status to nursing staff in a collaborative interprofessional setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
• Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
• Active and current registration with CLHA required.
• Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
• Program-specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
• Observe, monitor and report on client status/condition to RN/LPN.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
• Perform other related duties as required.
