Job summary

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is seeking a temporary part-time Connections Educational Assistant for Fort Saskatchewan Christian. The EA will support students in grades 1–6 diagnosed with ASD, and assist teachers with instructional and classroom activities to foster inclusive learning environments.

The role involves 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with potential for internal/external applicants. Experience with educational technology and Crisis Intervention training are assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education would be an asset.
• First Aid certificate would be an asset.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training would be an asset.
• Courses related to working with students with special needs would also be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with school activities.
• Work as a member of the school and student support team to support student learning.
• Provide routine instructional support following individualized learning plans and recording observations.
• Assist with personal care and additional student support as needed.
