Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto is seeking a LINC Instructor for a temporary contract to join the Language program team. You will teach daily classes, develop curricula, and assess student needs within a feminist, anti-oppression framework.

Qualifications include TESL-Ontario certification, a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and at least three years of teaching experience with adults/newcomers. You will use LMS tools and PBLA practices, reporting monthly to your supervisor.

Qualifikationen

• Strong leadership and reporting skills
• Commitment to feminist, anti-oppression framework
• Solid knowledge of CLB benchmarks and tracking student progress
• Excellent lesson planning, communication and interpersonal skills
• PBLA skills and ability to benchmark progress
• Experience with language edu software, MS Word and Internet
• Ability to work independently with good time management

Aufgaben

• Teach a daily class aligned with CLB Curriculum Guidelines and benchmarks
• Design and deliver engaging, innovative lesson plans
• Develop curricula promoting civic engagement and human rights for newcomer women
• Create an inclusive, equitable classroom environment
• Integrate classroom teaching with online learning via LMS and language software
• Plan activities to complement the curriculum
• Monitor attendance and student participation
• Participate in professional development and apply learnings
• Provide monthly reports to supervisor and maintain attendance statistics
• Aim for 35% progression rate and high standards
• Ensure compliance with funder requirements and agency policies
