Job summary

Vista Virtual School is seeking a Temporary Full Time Math Teacher to deliver Math 9, 10C, 20-1 and accounting CTS courses in a distance education setting.

Duties begin as soon as possible and run until December 18, 2026. A Telecommuting Agreement may be arranged by mutual consent between the school and applicant, with ongoing communication to support student progress and engagement.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Alberta teaching certificate.
• Proficiency in educational technology.
• Understanding and application of assessment for learning as demonstrated by individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach Math 9, 10C, 20-1 and CTS courses (Accounting Cycle 1 & 2 and Accounting Prep).
• Deliver distance education through Vista Virtual School and support online learners.
• Maintain close contact with students, parents and stakeholders; monitor progress and provide guidance.

Vista Virtual School requires a Temporary Full Time (1.0 FTE) Math Teacher. Courses will include Math 9, 10C, 20-1 and CTS courses of Accounting Cylce 1 & 2 and Accounting Prep. Duties are to commence as soon as possible and will end December 18, 2026. A Telecommuting Agreement may be available for this position if mutually agreed upon by the school and the successful applicant.

Vista Virtual School is an accredited public elementary, junior high and senior high school (including adult education and upgrading) that serves residents of Alberta. Qualifications:

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Knowledge of Moodle


• Preference will be given to individuals with experience in a distance learning environment
