Job summary

Southpointe Academy in Delta, BC, is seeking a Temporary Facilities Support Worker to join the Buildings & Grounds team. The role covers routine maintenance, event setup, and managing traffic and safety on campus.

On-call availability and a valid Class 5 license are required. Salary ranges from $52,000 to $57,000 CAD, plus two weeks’ vacation (prorated), additional spring break vacation, extended time off during holidays, and a comprehensive benefits plan including RRSP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; trades/technical training preferred.
• Experience using standard tools for repairs/maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work safely and follow established safety standards.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, students, and vendors.
• Willing to be on call and respond to emergencies.
• Willing to train on traffic management.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Criminal Record Check clearance required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to learn new computer systems as required.
• WHMIS training provided by Southpointe.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on facilities.
• Assist with projects scheduled during school holidays.
• Help with school function setups and events.
• Manage school parking and traffic flow on site.
• Transport inventory and materials as needed.
• Pickup and delivery of supplies using school vehicles.
• Respond to requests via verbal, written, or electronic work orders.
• Escalate safety or quality issues to the Manager of Facilities and Events.
• Other duties as assigned.
