Job summary

The City of Delta is seeking qualified Building Service Workers to support auxiliary roles at facilities in North Delta, Ladner and Tsawwassen. The successful candidates will perform cleaning, maintenance and basic facility support tasks across multiple sites.

Requirements include a Building Service Worker Certificate and a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license, along with the ability to lift heavy objects and follow instructions. Competitive hourly wage with vacation/holiday pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Building Service Worker Certificate required.
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of janitorial methods, materials, tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, wash, wax and polish floors and related areas.
• Wash and clean windows, doors, shelves, walls, and surfaces.
• Wash hand basins, sinks and toilets and replenish washroom supplies.
• Collect and dispose of refuse and recycling.
• Ensure building security, answer inquiries and provide routing information and assistance to the public.

Skills
