Job summary

Rocky View Schools (RVS) invites applications for a temporary, full-time Elementary Generalist (Grade 5) teaching position at Prairie Waters Elementary School in Chestermere, starting immediately until October 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Prairie Waters serves K–6 students and is part of a dynamic learning community. Applicants must hold or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide references and a Vulnerable Sector Check as required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
• New/Recent Graduates Only: submit final practicum report.
• External applicants must provide a professional letter of reference within the past 18 months.
• Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check required within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Teach Grade 5 at Prairie Waters Elementary School in Chestermere.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain safe, inclusive classrooms.
• Assess student progress and communicate outcomes to families.

Pre-employment Requirements

• Applicantsmust possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certificationwith Alberta Education at www.alberta.ca/teacher-certification.
• New/Recent Graduates Only : In lieu of a reference letter please submit your final practicum report.
