Job summary

Rocky View Schools (RVS) invites applications for a temporary full-time Elementary Generalist (Grade 4) – Christian Program at R.J. Hawkey School in the City of Airdrie. The role serves K–6 with a Christian program, starting immediately until Sept.

25, 2026 (extension possible). This position is not open to those with a Continuing Teaching contract with RVS. Applicants must have or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate; new graduates may submit practicum reports in lieu of references.

Qualifications

• Must possess Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one.
• New/Recent Graduates: provide final practicum report in lieu of reference letter.
• External applicants must attach a professional reference on company letterhead (within 18 months).
• Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector Check required within 30 days of start.

The Opportunity

RVS invites you to apply for a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Elementary Generalist (Grade 4)- Christian Program position starting immediately until September 25, 2026 (with possibility of an extension) at R.J. Hawkey School.

R.J. Hawkey Elementary School is located in the City of Airdrie and serves students from grades K-6 including the Christian Program and Pre-Kindergarten Program. For more information regarding this school, please visit their website at .

The Christian Program is an alternative program offered by RVS. The program focuses on integrating the Christian faith and a Biblical world-view in a public school setting. The Christian program is a community where people and relationships matter, where identity and culture is clearly defined by their Christian faith, and where an excellent learning community is provided for their students.

This position is not open to those holding a Continuing Teaching contract with RVS.

Pre-employment Requirements

• Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certification with Alberta Education at .
